The School of Education at IU Northwest provides public information on impact and outcome measures identified by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The links below provide data (where applicable) on the annual reporting measures required by CAEP.
1. Impact of P-12 Learning & Development
The EPP uses annual reports by Indiana Department of Education (e.g., Instructional Effectivenss) to monitor positive impact by our completers on their students' learning growth, mainly in Northwest Indiana.

2. Indicators of Teacher Effectiveness
The reports are annually provided by the Indiana Department of Education. The reports have several categories, such as Highly Effective, to indicate level of our completers' recent instructional performance. The reports represent that our completers have been employed for 1, 2, or 3 years.

3. Satisfaction of Employers
Principals are annually surveyed by the Indiana Department of Indiana to indicate how well the EPP has prepared the recent completers. Principals are responding to statements divided into three domains (knowledge, disposition, & performance) and reflect elements of both national professional standards (CAEP), the Model Core Teaching Standards, Interstate Teacher Assessment & Support Consortium (InTASC). EPP is expected to meet these standards in order to prepare educators for licensure.

4. Satisfaction of Completers
Similar to the Satisfaction of Employers, the recently employed completers are asked to respond to a number of questions, in regard to the effective preparation by the EPP. The annual reports have three main categories, along with "overall assessment": Knowledge Preparation, Pedagogical Preparation, and Professional Disposition Preparation.

5. Graduation Rate including Attrition & Retention RateThe EPP's graduation rate reflects the number of completers and the number of current candidates who are in student teaching. Also, due to the Indiana Department of Education's effort, the EPP is able to report Attrition and Retention Rate, along with the State-level data for comparison benchmark.

6. Abilities of Completers to Meet Licensing and State Requirements including Title II Regarding the 6th CAEP Measure, the EPP provides the multiple data collections. The Testing Reports reflect how much percentage our completers passed the State-required testing. The Title II reports indicate a number of assessment data including completion, pass rate, and enrollment. GPA of the Completers shows cumulative GPA (at the EPP-level & the State-level); the reports also show the disaggregated GPA clusters by TEP (such as 2.5-2.99 & 3.0-4.0 in Elementary Education). NOTE: Due to statistical validity matter, the reports in this 6th CAEP Measure do not reveal numeric data, if data reflect less than 10 completers/candidates in particular ares to be assessed.

7.Ability of Completers to Be Hired in Education Positions As the EPP realizes that gathering data collection of the recent completers' employment is, most likely, not accurate due to several factors, the EPP utilizes the following methods: it uses direct contact through e-mail and phone with use of completers' roster; it uses data base tool by the Indiana Department of Education (Indiana Educator License Lookup). The report also contains info of how many the recent completers are employed at which school district.

Student Loan Default RateAccording to the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarship on campus, the student loan default rate cannot be disaggregated by the academic units, due to the IU's current financial management system. Thus, the currently available data indicate the Campus-level rate, not the EPP-level rate.
