Application for admission to the Teacher Education Program should be filed at least one semester before students plan to start.
Students must have successfully completed at least 26 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50.
Students must have successfully completed with a grade of C or higher:
- ENG W131 Elementary Composition
- SPCH S121 Public Speaking
- EDUC W200 Micro computing for Education
- EDUC F200 Examining Self as Teacher
- EDUC K205 Intro. to Exceptional Children and
- P250 Education Psychology
Students must have passed all parts of the Preprofessional Skills Test (CASA I) in reading, writing, and math. The minimum passing score for each CASA subtest is 220.
Students applying for the Spring semester in January must schedule to take their CASA I test no later than November 1st. Applications, test scores, and criminal background checks must be in the undergraduate advisor's office no later than the day the campus closes for the Christmas holiday.
Students applying for the Fall semester in August must schedule to take their CASA I test no later than July 1st. Applications, test scores, and criminal background checks must be in the undergraduate advisor's office no later than August 15th.
