Teacher Education Programs at the SOE are officially accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), as granted in Spring 2021. List of the fully accredited TEPs is following:
Elementary Ed+Special Ed (TAL)
Secondary Ed (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, & Visual Arts)
Special Ed (initial licensing; graduate certificate)
Urban Teacher Ed Program (initial licensing; graduate certificate)
Ed Leadership (graduate)
The School of Education displays the outcome measures identified by the CAEP. The links below provide data (where applicable).
Measure 1: Impact & Effectiveness
a) Impact of P-12 Learning & Development
The EPP uses annual reports by the Indiana Department of Education (e.g., Instructional Effectivenss) to monitor positive impact by our recent completers on their students' learning growth, mainly in Northwest Indiana. |
b) Completer Effectiveness
The reports are annually provided by the Indiana Department of Education. The reports have three categories: Knowledge Preparation; Performance Preparation; and Dispositional Preparation. |
Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers
Principals are annually surveyed by the Indiana Department of Indiana to indicate how well the EPP has prepared the recent completers. The participating principals respond to 20 assessment items, along with the open-ended response. |
Measure 3: Candidate Competency
The EPP provides the Title II reports. The Title II reports show a number of assessment data including completion, pass rate, and enrollment. The reports also show the disaggregated GPA clusters by TEP (such as 2.5-2.99 & 3.0-4.0 in Elementary Education). NOTE: Due to statistical validity matter, the reports do not reveal numeric data, if data reflect less than 10 completers/candidates in particular categories to be assessed. |

Measure 4: Completers' Employment
As the EPP realizes that data collection of the recent completers' employment is not easy due to the limited access, it utilizes the following methods: it uses direct contact through e-mail or phone call; it uses the data base tool managed by the Indiana Department of Education (License Verification & Information System-LVIS) |
