The School of Public & Environmental Affairs at IUN offers an accelerated Bachelor of Science to Master of Public Affairs program. This program is designed to offer currently qualified undergraduate students the opportunity to take graduate-level coursework as an undergraduate student and earn credit for their undergraduate program requirements while also earning graduate-level credit toward a Master of Public Affairs degree.
B.S. to M.P.A. Program Information Packet
Students completing the graduate level coursework (predetermined list of courses) will receive credit towards their undergraduate requirements and upon completion of their Bachelor of Science degree will have credits that can be used towards the MPA program, provided students meet the minimum admission requirements.
Upon admission to the MPA program, students who have completed the graduate-level courses at the undergraduate level will have up to 12 credits of graduate-level coursework applied to the MPA requirements.
General Requirements:
- UG gpa of 3.0 overall
- SPEA Major gpa must be 3.2 with a minimum of 15 credit hours of SPEA classes taken
- Must have at least 60 hours completed in the undergraduate SPEA program
- Must have a letter of support from a SPEA faculty member
Upon successful completion of the graduate courses as an undergraduate student (i.e., earn a “B” or better in the graduate courses), students participating in the program will still need to apply and meet the admission requirements for the MPA program, but will be waived from taking the GRE.
