What is an "exploratory student?"
An exploratory student is a student who is initially unsure about what they would like to pursue as a student at IU Northwest. The exploratory student wants to research and find out more about their personal interests, skills, and available resources that will help them find that perfect major available at IU Northwest.
Our office oversees two different exploratory tracks: one for the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS), and one for the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS).
Exploratory Experience
Exploratory Experience is a two-day academic enrichment program for Exploratory College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) and Pre-Health students to assist with student success and persistence to graduation. Incoming freshmen will meet with staff, faculty, advisors, and other students to discuss technology; importance of degree planning; learn how to effectively study for exams; examine the differences between high school and college; and discussing financial aid options. Participation in this program is highly encouraged and will be helpful in making your transition to IU Northwest a success.
