Interlibrary Loan or ILL is the process through which books and periodical articles are obtained if they are not available at Indiana University Northwest. In these cases, you can submit an ILL request. You need to create an ILLIAD account, which can be accessed at this link or through the IUN Library homepage.
Many databases have a link to ILLIAD. After you have created your ILLIAD account, just click the button or link for ILLIAD or interlibrary loan. For other requests, fill in the form as completely as possible and click the "Submit" button. It is important to fill in the section "where did you learn about this item." This helps the ILL staff verify the citation. You will be notified through your preferred notification method when the item is in or in case it cannot be obtained.
The library prides itself on the efficiency of its interlibrary loan department. The average turn - around time for a book is 5 working days but it may take up to 10 working days. Articles arrive much sooner than books and may be available within two days on average. Please allow at least two weeks for the material to arrive.
Community members may submit requests after creating an ILLIAD account. The number of items is limited to three and must be free of charge to us. If there is a fee, we will contact you to find out if you want to pay for it.
Interlibrary Loan explanation of policies and frequently asked questions are available. Should you have additional questions, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department at 219-980-6932. Our hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Friday.
