Students who tested into the lowest MA101 math level on the IU Northwest math placement exam need to refresh their mathematics skills by first taking the class MATH-A100 (Fundamentals of Algebra) together with MATH-M 15 (Support for Fundamentals of Algebra). After satisfactory completion of this course work, students will be allowed to complete the remainder of their mathematics requirements.
Students who tested into MA102 on the IU Northwest placement exam are allowed to take the IU Northwest course MATH-A 100 (Fundamentals of Algebra). This is a prerequisite course that does not satisfy the College of Arts and Sciences distribution requirements nor general education mathematical reasoning requirement.
Students who tested into MA103 on the IU Northwest placement exam are allowed to take the IU Northwest course MATH-M 100 (Basic Mathematics), or MATH-M 117 (Intermediate Algebra), or MATH-T 101 (Math for Elementary Teachers).
