Hands-on Learning
Students majoring in mathematics are encouraged to present their work at local, regional, and national conferences and take part in the Indiana Friendly Collegiate Mathematics Competition. They are also encouraged to tutor in the Math Assistance Center and serve as Supplemental Instruction student helpers in developmental and 100-level courses.
Students in the actuarial science program are encouraged to seek internship opportunities after passing one or more actuarial exams. Many students are afforded opportunities to work at insurance companies, consulting firms, private companies, and government departments.
