Our experiences provide students with hands-on application of coursework through use of the AHIMA Virtual Lab and EHRGo. In addition, a clinical instructor manages the assignment of students to external facilities for the completion of the required experiences.
Students are responsible for completion of a criminal background check, providing copies of immunization records, providing own transportation to external agencies, and following all other requirements according to contractual agreements made between Indiana University and external agencies.
The use of laptops is a requirement for the Health Information Technology program. Students are encouraged to utilize their own equipment in our on-site classes. All testing is conducted via Canvas, the learning management system used at Indiana University Northwest.
Students should consult with the department and their advisor for additional information concerning course content and academic counseling.
