Requesting Accommodations
Accessible Educational Services uses a web-based management system to manage your accommodations.
Please use Accommodate to apply for your accommodations each semester. You'll find a number of helpful pieces of information on this page and, if you scroll down to the "Apply" section, you'll see the option to Navigate to Request for Accessibility Educational Services. This is your first step.
You can use Accommodate to view your accommodation, request accommodation letters, and schedule appointments with staff.
Important Information About Your Rights
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the office of the Accessibilities Services Coordinator can coordinate accommodations for students with disabilities based on documentation from a medical professional. Review of documentation may take 3-4 weeks; hence, students should submit documents to the Accessibilities Services Coordinator's office in a timely manner. As part of the interactive process, accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis following review of the medical documentation and a meeting with the Accessibilities Services Coordinator.
It is the responsibility of the student seeking accommodations to meet with the Accessibilities Services Coordinator within the first few weeks of the semester. During the meeting with the Coordinator, the student’s instructors will receive accommodation letters and the student will receive direction of how to discuss the accommodations with their instructors. Although a student is approved for accommodations, they are required to meet with the Accessibilities Services Coordinator each semester to implement their accommodations. Accommodations are not retroactive; hence, students must be attentive to arranging to meet with their professors at the start of each semester and discuss implementation of accommodations.
