All vehicles must properly display a parking permit. To be valid, the permit must be clearly visible. Permits should be hung from rear view mirror. Visitor permits should be placed on the driver side dashboard.
Permit eligibility is determined by employment/student status and affiliation with the University.
Permits must be returned to the parking office upon a change in eligibility or affiliation with the University.
Multiple vehicles can be registered under a single permit. Only one of these vehicles is permitted on campus at a time. Permit holder is responsible for placing the permit in the vehicle driven on campus.
Failure to properly display a valid parking permit and ensure the vehicle license plate is registered to the permit may result in a citation.
Intercampus parking with a valid permit from another IU campus is allowed as determined by the campus where the customer is parking (please visit intercampus parking to determine where you can park on different campuses).
The person whose name a parking permit is issued is responsible for the violations they receive while operating the vehicle.
If you lose your parking permit or it is stolen, you will need to submit a lost/stolen form to receive a replacement permit for a fee of $15.00. Use of lost/stolen permit may result in fines, vehicle impoundment, and revocation of parking privileges.
License plate information is required at the time of purchasing a permit.
Faculty/Staff leaving the university should return their permit to Parking Services. Refunds are not issued for permits on payroll plans, instead payroll plan will be terminated.
A defective permit should be exchanged immediately. There is no charge if the defective permit is returned in exchange for a replacement. In the event a replacement is requested without the defective permit being returned, a $15.00 replacement fee will be charged to the owner.
