- Valid in IU Northwest disability identified spaces. All individuals parking in disability spaces must display a state issue plate or placard along with an IU Northwest Disability Permit or Visitor Permit.
- Student, Faculty, or Staff requesting an IU Northwest Disability Parking Permit should contact Parking Services.
- Either one of the following documentations should be submitted with the request:
- A copy of the BMV disability registration issued to the applicant.
- A copy of the BMV disability placard and receipt issued to the applicant.
- Receipts for state-issued placards must be obtained from the BMV at the time of purchase. If you do not have your receipt, you may obtain a duplicate one from the State of Indiana.
- A temporary disability permit will be issued to students, faculty, or staff needing short-term disability parking. An individual is given two weeks to visit a physician and receive authorization in writing attesting to his or her need for ADA parking. Upon receipt of this authorization, the Office of Parking Services will issue a thirty (30) day temporary disability permit. If the person requires the permit for more than thirty (30) days, the applicant must apply for a state-issued placard or license plate and submit the appropriate documentation described above.
- Either one of the following documentations should be submitted with the request:
- Disability Permits replace an existing EM, ST, or Reserved Parking Permit, or they may be purchased at the regular rate of the permit that the individual is eligible to purchase. This does not include a motorcycle permit.
- Individuals with state issued placard must display both IU Northwest disabled placard and state issued placard. IU Northwest Disabled permit must be in front of the state issued placard.
- **Visitors with disability plates or placard can contact Parking Services for a temporary Visitor Disabled pass. Visitor permit must be properly displayed on the driver side dashboard.
- EVC | Eligibility: Students, Faculty, or Staff with an electric vehicle
- Term: Annually

- Valid Parking:
- Valid in IU Northwest EVC labeled spaces.
- A valid IU Northwest regular permit is required in conjunction with the EVC Permit.
- There is a 4-hour maximum charging time. Stations are monitored 24 hrs. a day.
- R | Eligibility: Full-time Faculty and Staff

- Valid in assigned reserved space issued at purchase.
- Reserved spaces are reserved for the individual permit holder on a 24-hour basis.

- UV | Eligibility: IU Northwest departments with university vehicles with valid Fleet number
- Term: Annually
- Price: No Charge
- Valid Parking:
- Valid in IU Northwest University Vehicle labeled spaces and IUN Permit Parking lots.
- Terms & Conditions:
- UV Permits are for use in university-owned vehicles only and should not be used in a personal vehicle at any time.
- UV permits found in personal vehicles may be subject to citations.
- University vehicles must park legally and in accordance with IU Northwest Parking Rules and Regulations. Parking in areas that may create a hazard or interferes with access to university facilities is prohibited and will be subject to citation.
- University Vehicle spaces are not to be treated as Reserved spaces.
- Departments with university vehicles have the option to purchase a Reserved Permit if needed. Please contact Parking Services to request a reserved permit.
- Citations are the responsibility of the department and will be billed to the account number on file.
- UV permits are issued on an annual basis and must be renewed each year.
- To request a UV Permit, please email Parking Services and include the following information:
- University Vehicle Fleet #
- Vehicle make and model, and the license plate information.
- Department requesting the permit.
- The name of the manager or supervisor responsible for the permit.
- IU account number to activate permit.
- Acknowledgement of guidelines, terms, and conditions by fiscal officer.
- Lost or stolen UV permits should be reported by the department manager or supervisor immediately to Parking Services for deactivation. Requests for replacement permits should be emailed to Parking Services.
- UV Permits are for use in university-owned vehicles only and should not be used in a personal vehicle at any time.
- To remain in compliance, we recommend departments implement the following procedures:
- Utilize a sign-in/sign-out log to track who has possession of university vehicles, carts, or other conveyance vehicles and the corresponding UV permit.
- For UV permits not kept within a vehicle (Ex: golf carts) – secure permits in a locked area with limited access.
- Permits & Citation Suspensions
- Your department or school can request temporary passes for your attendees or to suspend parking citations for larger events. Please email request to Parking Services and include the following information:
- Department hosting the event
- Event Name
- Brief description of the event
- Date and time (please include the estimated times of arrival and departure)
- Estimated Attendance
- Please note that a five-day notice is required. We will do our best to accommodate late request but cannot guarantee.
- Your department or school can request temporary passes for your attendees or to suspend parking citations for larger events. Please email request to Parking Services and include the following information:
- An affiliate of IU Northwest is a student, employee or volunteer who does research or has work duties on campus but is not paid by the University.
- To be eligible for this permit, you will need to contact Parking Services. Please bring with you a verification letter from the associated department or school on their letterhead.
