Great Lakes Innovative Stewardship through Education Network ( Calumet Cluster)
GLISTEN is a collaborative effort by local colleges, universities and environmental community partners to engage students in direct-action efforts to preserve and restore the environmental health of the Lake Michigan watershed.
Northwest Indiana Restoration Monitoring Inventory ( NIRMI)
NIRMI ( Northwest Indiana Restoration Monitoring Inventory) seeks to facilitate and administer the long-term monitoring of ecological restorations in Northwest Indiana and the greater Calumet Region.
Save the Dunes
The mission of Save the Dunes, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is to preserve, protect and restore the Indiana Dunes and all natural resources in Northwest Indiana's Lake Michigan Watershed for an enhanced quality of life.
Shirley Heinze Land Trust
Shirley Heinze Land Trust, a501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1981 as a charitable trust to preserve and protect the unique ecosystems of the Indiana Dunes region. They acquire and preserve natural lands throughout Northwest Indiana and offer educational programs to inform the public about the area's rich natural history, and provide numerous volunteer opportunities.
Indiana Dunes National Park
The Indiana Dunes National Park was created to preserve the Indiana Dunes and other areas of scenic, scientific, and historic interest and recreational value...and to provide for educational, inspirational, and recreational use by the public so long as such use is compatible with the preservation of the park's unique flora, fauna, and physiographic conditions and its historic sites and structures.
Indiana Lake Michigan Coastal Program
The purpose of the Indiana Lake Michigan Coastal Program is to enhance the State's role in planning for and managing natural and cultural resources in the coastal region and to support partnerships between federal, state and local agencies and organizations. The Indiana Lake Michigan Coastal Program relies upon existing laws and programs as the basis for achieving its purpose.
Alliance for the Great Lakes
The Alliance aims to conserve and restore the world's largest freshwater resource using policy, education and local efforts to ensure a healthy Great Lakes for generations of people and wildlife.
Openlands Project
Founded in 1963, Openlands is a nonprofit conservation organization that protects, expands, and enhances public open space - both land and water - within the City of Chicago, the greater Chicago metropolitan area, and beyond, into counties across northeastern Illinois and across state lines in southeastern Wisconsin and northwestern Indiana, to provide a healthy natural environment and more livable place for people throughout the region.
