The mission of the Office of Sustainability at IUN is to catalyze, advance, and support institutional efforts and collaborations that promote the sustainability and well-being of the campus community, the local community of Gary, and the natural environments and ecosystems of Northwest Indiana.
As a regional and fully commuter campus, the role of the Office of Sustainability at IUN is to demonstrate, educate, and engage students, faculty and staff around the issues of sustainability and climate change resilience in a way that empowers individuals to act as informed stakeholders in their own lives and communities.
