Indiana Civic Health Index
The Indiana Civic Health Index (INCHI) strengthens civic life in Indiana by elevating the discussion of our state’s civic health. Created in collaboration with state and national organizations, these reports identify patterns related to the civic engagement of Hoosiers and discuss the implications of these trends for building a civically engaged Indiana.
The most recent report, the 2021 INCHI, marks a decade of research and action to improve Indiana's civic health. The first section of the report details progress in advancing the goals of enhancing civic education in schools and promoting citizen participation in the election process. The second section continues the review of Indiana’s performance on an array of civic health indicators, examining three election cycles – six elections during 10 years – and analyzing trends during that time.
