I have been researching the white separatist/nationalist since the early 90s and co-authored a book with Betty Dobratz entitled "White Power, White Pride!" The White Separatist Movement in the United States (Twayne Social Movements Series, sub-division of Simon and Schuster, 1997). I won the 1998 IUN Award for Outstanding Scholarship for that book. Currently, I am writing a monograph about white separatist women for Northeastern University Press which will be tentatively titled Women and White Separatism: Procreators and Street Fighters in the War Against Z.O.G. Rather thank relying on media and other secondary sources, my research has involved attending Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazi, and Skinhead rallies, both public and private for first hand accounts and personal interviews over a six year period. Currently, I have been interviewing white power advocates via the internet to reach people who would otherwise not be found at public rallies. This research is both timely and exciting!
