Cognitive Research
In general, I am interested in memory and language. I am currently working on projects that explore multiple language activation in bilinguals, how proactive interference (i.e., when old information makes it difficult to learn new information) influences multiple text comprehension, and individual differences in the susceptibility to creating false memories for words.
Pedagogical Research
I have a separate line of research that investigates how to create learning environments and assignments that promote transfer and reflective thinking. I am currently working on projects that examine how using real-world examples can promote transfer in statistics, how group assignments influence statistics anxiety, and how writing cover letters that address feedback received throughout a semester on a paper assignment influence reflective processing.
