The IU Northwest Minority Opportunity for Research Experience (MORE) program was established to encourage engagement in research, and to connect undergraduate minority students to faculty mentors while assisting with faculty research and other creative projects. MORE is a campus-wide research initiative, which supports students from all disciplines.
MORE provides students with opportunities to engage in faculty research projects and empowers students, especially minority students from underrepresented and lower-income populations, to participate in research as early as possible. The program strives to increasingly retain the number of students from these groups who are pursuing careers that use research as a critical component of their operating strategies.
Faculty mentors define research initiatives and supervise students with project discourse in their respective fields. In addition, students are strongly encouraged to attend seminars, conferences and research-related meetings during their time in the MORE program.
