My name is William J. Lowe and I am Professor of History at IU Northwest. During 2010-20, I served as the Chancellor for the campus. I went to college at Michigan State University and did my postgraduate study for the Ph.D. in Modern History at Trinity College Dublin, in Ireland.
At IU Northwest I teach courses in History (including some Irish History), American police history (in cooperation with the School of Public & Environmental Affairs Criminal Justice program) and American Economic History ((School of Business & Economics).
My research interests are principally in social and economic history, including the history of Irish policing (the Royal Irish Constabulary), 1836-1922.
