The Times of Northwest Indiana readers voted campus a winner in annual ‘Best of the Region’ ballot
Indiana University Northwest was selected as the 2023 Best College/University and Best Adult Educational Institution in Northwest Indiana by the readers of The Times of Northwest Indiana.
IU Northwest received the awards in the publication’s “Best of the Region” ballot, which annually recognizes the top businesses and institutions in Northwest Indiana.
“It’s an honor to have IU Northwest named the Best College/University and Best Adult Education in Northwest Indiana,” Chancellor Ken Iwama said. “What makes this even more special is that the community voted the campus for these awards. We strive to be an institution which engages, collaborates and strengthens the community around us, and I’m thankful, as is evident through these awards, the voters see us as a university which does just that.”
IU Northwest was voted as the Best College/University over six other higher education institutions. It also finished above five higher education institutions in the Best Adult Educational Institution category; more than half of the 743 graduates conferred at this year’s Commencement ceremony were 25 years or older.
Honorees were chosen by readers in an online voting process, which ran from February 23 through March 26. More than 18,100 voters of nwi.com cast 481,124 votes in more than 200 categories.
