Mrs. Galocy has been in Health Information Management for over 30 years. She is an Assistant Dean and Program Chair for the Health Information Management program at Indiana University Northwest. In her role as chair she oversees the Health Information Technology and Health Information Administration programs at IU Northwest.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Information Administration from Indiana University, and a master’s degree in Adult Education, also from Indiana University. She is a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She is currently completing coursework towards a doctoral degree in instructional systems technology. She is currently serving as a CCHIIM Commissioner at the AHIMA. Her previous work in HIM includes management in acute care hospital organizations, coding and documentation consulting, and author and technical editor for 3 textbook chapters.
Mrs. Galocy also consults for a variety of healthcare organizations, in revenue optimization and coding compliance.
